Dr. Kolopenuk (Ininiw/Swampy Cree, Peguis First Nation) is an Associate Professor and the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Chair in Indigenous Health at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Her research, teaching, and policy advising focus on amplifying Indigenous leadership in science, technology, and health fields. Dr. Kolopenuk’s work critically examines the power of genome science and health research, analyzing how knowledge production and governance converge as colonial politics. She is passionate about backing Indigenous people and communities to shape the research and policies impacting their lives and lands.
